Bipolar Disorder and Omega 3 Fish Oil

by Zoe

I have a friend who is bipolar. She goes from mania, extreme overly excited and seemingly happy, to not being able to function from the bipolar depression side of it.
It's troubling to watch a person have these mood swings. It's the classic Jekyll and Hyde. I've been learning about fish oil and quite a bit from this website and I do know that when she takes her fish oil faithfully she seems to be more on an even keel. She doesn't experience the mood swings like when she goes off the supplements.
I'm not sure she notices the mood swings like an outsider does.

If she does, why doesn't she take her omega 3 fish oil regularly with out interruptions in it?

Does anybody have any first hand experience with this?

Thank you for listening and I'd appreciate any information.

Bipolar and Omega 3 Fish OIl

We must have the same friend. Fish oil should be the 8th wonder of the world. It sure works miracles for my friend.

It keeps her on a pretty even keel. Not so much mania and then depression like it has been since we were in college together.

Omega 3 Fish Oil Rocks!
